WAKEFIELD – Main Street business Dove and Distaff won the window display contest at the Wakefield Arts and Entertainment Festival held Aug. 11 to Aug. 14.

Upholstery store Dove and Distaff was one of 15 businesses in downtown Wakefield to celebrate the festival by participating in the contest. The public voted for its favorite display and cast more than 900 votes.

Dove and Distaff garnered 369 votes. In second place was the Narragansett Times with 160 votes and Weedweavers in third place with 103 votes.

The festival was organized by the Contemporary Theater Company, a traveling theater troupe based in South Kingstown.
