WAKEFIELD - Dinner and a murder? Forgo the movie! Spend your weekend evening at the Contemporary Theater Company's charming dinner theater production of "The Real Inspector Hound."

In this Tom Stoppard comedic play-within-a-play, two theater critics watch and critique a lively murder mystery in Lady Muldoon's claustrophobic manor, until they are swept up in the action. Don't be surprised if things unravel when the story starts to repeat. With a murderer on the loose, and confusion between real life and performance, can you find the REAL Inspector Hound?

After the sold-out success of its December show, "The Gift of the Magi," the Contemporary Theater Company is excited to return to Midtown Café for its second dinner theater production. December's production was such a hit that additional performances were scheduled to meet demand, and "The Real Inspector Hound" is expected to do the same.

"Stoppard's play blurs boundaries and pushes limits in a hysterical and eye-opening tale of mystery, suspense and ultimately retribution," Artistic Director Christopher Simpson said. "Our audience will be delighted with their meal, amused by the story and shocked by the outcome when they discover the unbelievable truth of 'The Real Inspector Hound.'"

The dynamic cast includes Emily Elderkin, Jaden Franklin, Laura Kennedy, John McKenna, Matthew Royalty-Lindman and Terrence Simpson, as well as company veterans Nevan Richard and Stephen Strenio.

Dinner includes a three-course meal, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Meal options range from roast loin of pork to baked salmon to lasagna, and are served in a delightful dining room in the heart of Wakefield.

"We are delighted to be working again with the Contemporary Theater Company to bring live theater to Main Street," said Midtown Café owner Robin McGuigan. "And this is all following the tremendous success of the holiday production."

"The Real Inspector Hound" will show Saturday, March 20, Sunday, March 21, Friday, March 26, Saturday, March 27, Friday, April 2, Saturday, April 3, Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 . Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers, dinner starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $38 and include dinner and the show.
